U Space takes your mixes to a new spatial dimension.

U Space is a sound design and mixing tool created in Patcher that allows you to realistically place any sound source in a three-dimensional environment. Unlike standard DAW controls, this plugin emulates how the human brain perceives the distance and position of sound objects in the real world.

 

XY Control and Psychoacoustics

The heart of the plugin is its XY module. By moving the cursor, U Space calculates in real time the necessary combination of volume attenuation, advanced panning, and frequency filtering. The further you move the source from the listening icon, the more these parameters are transformed to simulate the loss of high frequencies and the increase in reflected signal (reverb) that occurs in physical spaces.

 

Reverb Module

To enhance the sense of depth, it includes a reverb section with pre-delay, velocity modulation, and high/low-pass filters. It also allows you to adjust the source width, enabling you to convert a mono signal to center it or widen it to fill the entire stereo spectrum.

 

Personalization and Workflow

The plugin offers slope controls for elevation filters, allowing the "up or down" feel to be more subtle or dramatic depending on the track's needs. It also includes an interactive manual integrated directly into the Patcher map to instantly answer routing questions.
